Les Suites de Blois are located just 8 meters from the former residence of Louis XII and Francis I of France (François Ier), right in the heart of the historic center. Yes, we actually took the time to measure it… and the proximity is just as striking as it sounds.
Here, the castle is not simply a landmark — it is the prestigious neighbor across the street. But the story of our own building is equally worth telling.
1 rue de la Voûte du Château stands on a site steeped in history, once occupied by sections of the former castle ramparts, gradually abandoned and dismantled over the centuries. The present building was constructed in the very early 20th century by the fourth generation of the Langlois family.
At the time, the ground floor housed the Langlois Tapestry Manufacture and its boutique, while the family of master artisans lived upstairs in a spacious and elegant residence.
Their woven creations traveled far beyond Blois, adorning sacred sites in Jerusalem and the Vatican, as well as Lourdes, the Sacré-Cœur in Montmartre, the Cathédrale Saint-Louis de Blois, and grand private residences in Belgium, Sweden, and Luxembourg. The Langlois Manufacture shone across five continents, carrying the craftsmanship of Blois to some of the world’s most prestigious locations.
Today, this historic address continues its story in a different way — welcoming travelers who wish to experience Blois at the very heart of its heritage.
In 2012, Carole Redais joined the prestigious Langlois Manufacture in Blois. Three years later, upon the retirement of Patrice Langlois — the fifth generation in a distinguished line of master artisans — she took over the company, continuing a family legacy shaped by skill, patience, and excellence.
The manufacture later relocated, leaving behind walls that had witnessed more than a century of life, craftsmanship, and tradition.
At the end of 2021, the building began a new transformation. Deeply attached to the region and its heritage, Mr. and Mrs. Gauthier became its new custodians. Their vision was not simply to renovate, but to preserve its soul — to honor the traces of the past and respect the building’s history, while infusing it with contemporary comfort and elegance.
Like a passing of the torch, a new chapter was written in continuity with the generations before. In spring 2024, the ground floor welcomed the O’Château tea room, a new space for warmth and connection. Upstairs, Les Suites de Blois came to life: four officially rated furnished holiday apartments, where the building’s family story now continues through the hospitality extended to travelers.
In the entrance hall, an antique wool-weaving loom still stands. It has seen generations of artisans at work, heard their conversations, their plans, their hopes. It remains a quiet symbol of a carefully preserved heritage. Even today, that spirit of family continues to inhabit these walls. Because here, more than just a building, it is a story of transmission that lives on.

It is directly opposite the Château Royal de Blois that we invite you to set down your bags and begin your stay.
What a privilege it is to simply open the window of your bedroom or living room and take in a breathtaking panorama, where remarkable architecture and the great chapters of French history unfold before you. Here, the view is a daily spectacle — and every glance toward the castle reveals another fragment of the past.
